Feeling good!

After last week's post I decided to try and show myself that I have achieved a lot already and that rather than berating myself for not looking as I want to ideally, I should be wanting to achieve more based on what I've already done. So, I looked at my old measurements when I began and compared them to now -

33" waist now 30"
48" hips now 45"
29" thighs now 27"
14 1/2" arms now 13"

Even though these aren't the biggest of changes, it shows that I'm on the right track and clearly what I'm doing is working or they'd be the same! I've also noticed that some of my stretch marks have reduced considerably (I started getting these when I hit puberty around 12/13 so it's not entirely to do with weight but I was basically 'adult sized' once I hit 13) which I hadn't realised. As well as this, I  tried on some of my clothes that had been way too tight last time I wore them to find that most of them now fit perfectly. Most notably a pair of size 14 trousers I bought that I couldn't for the life of me sit down in without feeling as though I would explode which now look too big!

This has really given me the confidence boost that I've been lacking, it's ok to feel happy with my achievements even if I'm not where I want to be yet as ultimately I want to keep seeing these changes! I weighed in today as I'm travelling to see my parents for a week tomorrow and may not get a chance to weigh in, I'm not too worried in regards to food choices whilst visiting as I've mentioned before both my Mum and Dad have encountered health problems due to weight (gall stones and type 2 diabetes respectively) and have really started to take it seriously and are both (although my Mum more strictly than my Dad) following a slimming world plan. Since my last weigh in under a week ago I've lost 1lb so am really pleased and am well on track to achieving my 10 week pledge!

I'm really looking forward to having a bit of a break from every day life and will be doing everything that I can to stay on course by continuing to track my food with Myfitnesspal and hopefully get some exercise in, even if it's just a walk.

  1. Good for you for taking time to note all the positive changes! Losing weight & changing body shape takes time, so don't get frustrated. Keep at it and I'm sure you'll be pleased with the results :)
